Winter Gardens and Castle View, Canvey.
Hated school, but enduring it with my mates, who I am still close to now made it tolerable.

CBE - When I joined in 84, having heard all the jokes, I feared it was going to be non-stop biscuit games and long post-rugby showers at ICHS. In the end all the gayness resided in one little fat kid called Nick plus Mr Papes (sacked for asking out a sixth former) and Mr Clarke (former actor and outed as a nonce by the Daily Mirror).
Maybe it was the gayest place in London but no-one fancied me.

My grammar school had "all we have to offer is our genus" written on a sports pavilion. Someone had later inserted the missing i in with a felt tip. Wanky slogan anyway.
